This site is meant to give you an impression of the beatiful sea shells we have fond while visiting beaches
in The Netherlands and abroad over the past years.
During these visits we have also collected shell sand and have searched through it at home for very
small species.
Through the menu at the top of the page you will find the places we have collected our shells
(button Vindplaatsen) and photographs of the collected species (button Soortenlijst)
We try to use correct species names as best as we can on this site but as we not professional experts we
could be wrong with our determinations. Should you have questions then please do not hesitate to contact us
by using the contact e-mail address.
We are working constantly to add more of our shells.to the site, so do come back later on to see our
new material.
Special thanks to Sarah Longrigg who has helped us identify species from Great Britain that we think are
not native in The Netherlands and to Dr. Alan Morton for his help identifying fossil species from the
Barton Beds.
